Paul D. Wagner, MD, FACP, is a board-certified internist providing primary care at San Diego Medical Group.....
Dr. Wagner provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases for adults. He has a particular interest in diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and thyroid disease.
Dr. Wagner earned his medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Dr. Wagner is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He also has memberships in the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Directors Association, California Medical Association, California Association of Long Term Care Medicine and the San Diego County Medical Society.
Before becoming a doctor, Dr. Wagner spent six years studying for the ministry earning a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts in seminary. Dr. Wagner has been practicing medicine since 1992, and he believes his career "encompasses the entirety of my training in medicine and the ministry."

Dr. Wagner Elected as American College of Physicians Fellow
Paul D. Wagner, MD, FACP has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the society of internists. Fellowship with the ACP is an honorary designation recognizing achievements in internal medicine and contributions to the practice of medicine. Fellowship is a mark of distinction. It says that your doctor has made a special effort to be the best physician possible. Ultimately, it says your doctor cares about delivering the best possible health care.
Dr. Wagner was elected upon the recommendation of peers and the review of the ACP Credentials Subcommittee. He may now use the letters “FACP” – Fellow of the American College of Physicians – after his name in recognition of this honor.
Dr. Wagner has been practicing g medicine since 1992 and has a private practice near Scripps Mercy Hospital. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
