Paul D. Wagner, MD, FACP is board certified in Internal Medicine serving as a Primary Care Provider at San Diego Medical Group.

Dr, Wagner completed his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine.  He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine.  He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and then became board certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Wagner is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the society of internists. It is the largest body of internists in the world with a membership of more than 160,000 internists and related subspecialists.  Internists are specialists in the prevention, detection and treatment of illnesses in adults.

Dr. Wagner was elected as a Fellow of the ACP upon the recommendation of his peers and the review of the ACP Credentials Subcommittee.  He may now use the letters “FACP” – Fellow of the American College of Physicians – after his name in recognition of this honor. 

Fellowship with the ACP is an honorary designation recognizing achievements in Internal Medicine and contributions to the practice of medicine.  Fellowship is a mark of distinction.  It says that your doctor has made a special effort to be the best physician possible.  Ultimately, it says your doctor cares about delivering the best possible health care.

Before becoming a physician, Dr. Wagner spent six years studying for the ministry earning a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts in seminary. Dr. Wagner has been practicing medicine since 1992, and he believes his career “encompasses the entirety of my training in medicine and the ministry.”
